WE HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM
If it wasn’t bad enough that our banks, mortgage companies, and big businesses are failing, merging and closing down, thousands of our citizens have lost their jobs, their homes and their health care, now our troops are coming home in desperation and in the middle of winter.
Many of our troops are severely wounded, GI’s returning paralyzed, brain-damaged, blind, and burned, and suffering from deep depression only to discover that many of them are losing their homes and are not physically able to help themselves. A lot of their spouses have had to quit their jobs to stay at home and take care of them. Sometimes they have had to make a choice of putting food on the table, paying the utility bills, and keeping a roof over their heads.
In the worst recession in decades, families are faced with the prospect of becoming homeless. So many are on unemployment and wonder how long before that runs out too. Many big businesses have let their employees go without receiving their pensions as well. So, now our servicemen and women after sacrificing so much in the war, find themselves in a crisis after returning.
There is a special coalition called the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes that helps these service-men and women. The Coalition is a nonprofit nonpartisan organization founded to help troops who have been severely wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan. They have launched the Wounded Troops Foreclosure Fund. The Coalition is trying to raise one million dollars to help as many wounded troops and their families as possible to save their homes. They have already had many emergency calls for help.
To find out more about this organization click on Wounded Troops Foreclosure Fund on your computer to learn more, and perhaps you can send in a donation to help one of our troops this winter. General Chip Diehl (Ret.) is making this appeal on behalf of the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes. They deserve our help.
